Scheduling around a business that is still trading

The constraint on almost every commercial job is that the work cannot be visible to customers or disruptive to staff. Ours are booked before opening, after closing or overnight as a matter of course — the phones are answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so out-of-hours is a normal booking rather than a premium.

Things a commercial job has that a domestic one does not

Building rules. Loading-dock times, service-lift bookings, certificates of insurance for the building manager. Tell us early and it is arranged before the day; found on the morning, it can cost you the slot.
Data. Old computers, copiers and multifunction printers hold data on internal drives. Have IT wipe or pull them before we take them, or tell us and we will set them aside instead of loading them.
Access. Upper floors without a goods lift change the crew size and the time more than the volume does.

Lease-end and fit-out

A make-good clause usually requires the space returned empty and broom-clean by a fixed date, and that date is tied to your deposit. Those jobs get scheduled backwards from the handover, and we can phase the clear across evenings so trading is not interrupted.

Recurring work

For businesses generating waste steadily — retail, property management, contractors — a standing haul on a schedule works out better than calling when it piles up. One invoice, a known date, and the price agreed in advance.
