2. Sort room by room into five piles
- Keep, family keepsakes and things you want
- Give to family, items to pass on
- Donate, usable furniture, clothing and housewares
- Recycle, metal, electronics, appliances
- Haul, everything worn out or broken
3. Handle the donate & recycle piles
